12. Do you say RIGHT and PRICE with the same vowel sound as RIDE and PRIZE?
This one was interesting. I remember thinking about (or having it pointed out to me) that in Australia, we sometimes lengthen vowels before a voiced consonant, but hearing the difference just now startled me again. I think that we lengthen all long vowels and diphtongs before voiced consonants, as well as most short a’s (eg, mat –> mad).
I got north-eastern too.
Then again my accent is directly influenced by Sesame Street.
