Training has begun

I’ve begun my training for, hopefully, my next (i.e 2nd) marathon, either the Brisbane or Gold Coast Marathon, depending on time. Notice how this time around I’m actually training for the marathon – I’m trying to avoid a repeat of my last one, where I just rocked up, which left me with a very painful knee injury lasting over a year. Hopefully this business of training will avoid all that.

  1. The Brisbane Marathon being today I would hope that you have lined up for the Gold Coast. which is a spectacular Marathon, but allowing you to get the training in. I did it for the first time last year and hope to do it again this year, but like you I will be taking more care to avoid injury.

    Looking for results of todays Brisbane half marathon which I just ran and came across yr site. Great stuff, very well written and interesting personal observations.

  2. Yes, unfortunately I missed the Brisbane marathon today due to a friend’s wedding reception. However, the Gold Coast Marathon will be a definite, assuming I’m still in the country at that time. It’s probably a good that I didn’t do the Brisbane Marathon today, as I feel I really need a bit more training.
