From the Washinton Post, here are some particularly intelligent comments made by Rep. Katherine Harris, from everybody’s Favourite Old Party.
God did not intend for the United States to be a nation of secular laws, and the separation of church and state is a lie we have been told to keep religious people out of politics. If you’re not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin. [She cites abortion and same-sex marriage as examples of that sin].
We have to have the faithful in government because that is God’s will. Separating religion and politics is so wrong because God is the one who chooses our rulers.
And if we are the ones not actively involved in electing those godly men and women, then we’re going to have a nation of secular laws. That’s not what our Founding Fathers intended, and that certainly isn’t what God intended.
Why of course not. When the Founding Fathers wrote “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…” in the First Ammendement (Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression) I’m sure they certainly weren’t trying to advocate secular laws or anything blasphemous like that.
The attıtude expressed by Harrıs ıs extremely dangerous. It has been responsıble for wars and mass murder ın hıstory. and ıt ıs responsıble for what at thıs moment ıs happenıng ın Iraq. Lebanon etc. In the present precarıous world sıtuatıon. wıth weapons more dangerous than ever. ıt can only lead to dısaster on a massıve scale.
I smell sulfur and genocide…
I don’t like how people use “God” to justify every single word that comes out of their freaking mouth. In my opinion, religion should be separated from everything else as it obviously impairs judgment and rational thinking.
I also dislike some people’s view about “sin”. For me, I think “sin” is a deliberate act intended to harm other people physically and/or mentally. Thus, categorizing same-sex marriage and abortion as sins is just stupid.
The president is going to hell…. muhahahahahaha
