Fortune has just rated Google the best company to work for. This doesn't surprise me at all. At a seminar I attended last week by a Google employee, we were told how Google provides free lunches (and very good buffet style lunches, not just cafeteria crap), and has a '20% rule' whereby employees are allowed to spent one fifth of their time working on any project of their choosing. This is in addition to free ski trips, subsidy's for hybrid cars, generous maternity allowances and stock options (more perks of being a Googler here). These guys sure know how to make their employees happy, which I'm sure explains why Google is such an exceptionally productive and innovative company.
